After a long off-line time the Maniac Marble 3D setup files are online again.
After a lot of work on our Tile Racer project we are going to release a new update. The 0.65 version has a lot of new features (Shadow Car, HDR, …), bug fixes and track tiles. We want to put the new packages on the website today, so keep an eye on the Tile Racer web page.

Here it is. My new game project: Tile Racer. It’s a freeware stunt racing game. We started this game back in our university time under the working title StuntsRemake and as the old name implies it is a Stunts remake. The player can build his own tracks in the embedded track editor with stunt ramps, loopings, corkscrews and banked roads. Stay tuned, because we have a lot more features planed for futures releases.

There were a lot of complains about the movement keys (w,a,s,d) from players without an English (or German) keyboard layout. With the version 2.0.2 you can play the game with the arrow keys, so every normal sized keyboard should work.
I don’t have time right now to make any bigger changes (like implementing a menu to customize your input), but I put it on my TODO list for future releases.
I fixed some minor bugs in ManiacMarble3D.
The Linux installer should work now, but I wasn’t able to fix the “CXXABI_1.3.1 not found” error on platforms with an older gcc version.
There are some workarounds in the internet for some distributions. Have a look at them.
Keep on testing my game!
Update: There was another bug in the Linux installer script. All distributions using a newer tail version had a problem because of a deprecated flag I used. I hope this was the last bug in the script I had to fix.
Today the ultimate marble game is out! ManiacMarble3D is a game I made in the first master semester. It took me quit a while to make all the builds for Windows, Linux and Mac but now it’s here!
Have fun!!

This is the place where you get all the infos about my new projects. Stay tuned.
